European stock markets are seen edging higher at the open Friday, boosted by strong trade data out of China but with investors cautious ahead of the key monthly U.S. employment report.
At 2:05 AM ET (0705 GMT), the DAX futures contract in Germany traded 0.1% higher, CAC 40 futures in France climbed 0.1% and the FTSE 100 futures contract in the U.K. rose 0.2%.
German industrial production rose 2.5% in March, above expectations, while eyes will also be on the equivalent French number as well as the U.K. April construction PMI reading.
The pan-European Stoxx 50 climbed up by 0.97% to 4,013.2. In the cash markets, the DAX futures Germany was trading up 1.31% to 15,342.13. CAC 40 futures in France up by 1.51% to 6364.20 while the FTSE 100 futures in the U.K. up 1.69% at 7,090.7, at the time of writing.
