Mutual funds want freedom to invest amid rich valuations, push flexicap plans

Mumbai: As rich share valuations make it tough for fund managers to follow a strait jacketed investing approach, mutual funds are calling for investments into an equity product category with fewer restrictions. Some fund houses have launched or are in the process of launching flexicap schemes, a new category introduced by the market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) in November 2020 that gives a free hand to fund managers
