Asian stocks fell on weak Japanese data, U.S.-China jitters hit tech.
The Shanghai composite is down at 0.18%. Overall, the Singapore MSCI is down 0.58% to 281.07. Over in Hong Kong, the Hang Seng Index is down by 1.34% to 18,202.07. In Japan, the Nikkei 225 was down 1.16% to 32,606.84, while the Topix index was down 1.02% to 2,359.02. South Korea’s Kospi down 0.73% to 2,541.75. Australia S&P/ASX 200 is down 0.20% to, 7,156.70.

S&P, Nasdaq fall as Apple drags, jobless claims data fuels rate jitters.
The S&P 500 and Nasdaq declined on Thursday, with Apple being the greatest drag and semiconductor stocks falling due to worry over China’s iPhone restrictions. A decrease in weekly U.S. unemployment claims added to concerns about interest rates and persistent inflation.
