Market Overview
The dollar is cracking at the top of a month-long range, and four releases in the next five hours decide whether it breaks. A fresh AI-driven equity selloff has Treasuries bid: the 10-year yield has dropped to about 4.90% and the 30-year to 5.26%, both one-month lows, dragging the dollar index to roughly 101.77. That is happening even though yesterday’s US data was strong, with Q3 GDP at 3.4% against 3.1%–3.2% expected, jobless claims at 194,000 and core PCE at 3.1%, and a December Fed hike still priced at roughly 77%–85%. Dollar longs are being squeezed into month-end and Tuesday’s US midterm elections. The test comes at 10:00 GMT (eurozone GDP), 12:30 GMT (US Employment Cost Index and Canada GDP) and 13:00 GMT (German CPI). The desk plan: sell rallies in USD/JPY, USD/CAD, USD/CHF and EUR/USD, and buy dips in AUD/USD and GBP/USD.
Every central bank that mattered has now spoken. The BoJ held at 1.25% in an 8–1 vote and said underlying inflation has reached 2%, so USD/JPY (157.573) is down three sessions in a row and off a 157.115 low. The ECB held at 2.50% unanimously after debating a hike, and Lagarde announced she will leave on 7 February; EUR/USD (1.11900) bounced from the 1.1100 area, its weakest since May 2025, and now presses the top of its falling channel. AUD/USD (0.70224) has a hot Australian CPI and an RBA hike priced for 3 November behind it, and GBP/USD (1.34051) is the strongest major, up about 1% in October with a Bank of England hike due 5 November. USD/CAD (1.39664) sits under all three averages after the Bank of Canada hike and Brent’s fourth monthly gain, while USD/CHF (0.82203) is leaning through its channel floor on safe-haven demand. As of 08:00 GMT none of today’s scheduled data has printed.

Average entry 158.40. Risk 80 pips (about 0.51% of entry). Reward:risk 1.2 to TP1, 2.4 to TP2, 3.8 to TP3. 1 pip = 0.01.
Why this trade: Sell a rally into the falling triangle top near 158.30, below the 159.200 slow average. The BoJ held at 1.25% but flagged inflation at target, a December hike is live, and US 10-year yields have slipped to 4.90%.
Cancel if: A 4-hour close above 159.20, or a hot Employment Cost Index that lifts US yields back above 5%. Cancel if unfilled by 21:00 GMT today.

Why this trade: Buy a dip into the 0.69930 fast average after price broke the falling trendline from the September high. Hot Australian CPI (4.3% y/y) keeps an RBA hike on 3 November priced at roughly 80%–85%, and the Aussie is up about 1.2% in October.
Cancel if: A 4-hour close below 0.6955, or a hot US print that revives dollar demand. Cancel if unfilled by 21:00 GMT today.

Why this trade: Sell a push into the top of the falling channel and the 1.11983 fast average. The ECB held at 2.50% after debating a hike, Lagarde will leave in February, and the euro is still down about 1.2% in October on French bond stress.
Cancel if: A 4-hour close above 1.1265, or firm eurozone GDP and German CPI that lift December hike pricing. Cancel if unfilled by 21:00 GMT today.

Why this trade: Yesterday’s 1.3382–1.3385 cap has flipped. Price closed above the medium and slow averages, RSI is above 58, and a Bank of England hike on 5 November is heavily priced, so a dip into that band is the buy.
Cancel if: A daily close below 1.3300, which would put price back under all three averages. Cancel if unfilled by 21:00 GMT today.

Why this trade: Sell a bounce into the 1.4030 and 1.4047 averages. The Bank of Canada hiked to 2.50% on 28 October and flagged more, Brent is up about 11.5% in October, and RSI 36.14 sits well under its 45.15 average.

Why this trade: Yesterday’s dip-buy tested the 0.8213 channel floor and price is now leaning through it. Sell the retest of the broken floor up to the 0.82802 fast average: the franc is bid on AI-driven risk-off, US yields are lower and RSI 44.72 is under its average.
Cancel if: A 4-hour close above 0.8320, or a daily close back above the 0.82802 fast average with RSI over 50. Cancel if unfilled by 21:00 GMT today.
Conditional levels, not investment advice. Five of the six ideas are dollar-short and EUR/USD is the lone dollar-long, so a hot US print or a yield spike would hit most of them together; size accordingly.

Conclusion
Desk verdict: sell dollar strength against the yen, loonie and franc; buy Aussie and sterling dips; fade euro rallies.
USD/CAD and USD/JPY carry the cleanest shorts while they stay under their averages, with stops at 1.4100 and 159.20. USD/CHF is a retest short with a stop at 0.8320, and EUR/USD is a lower-conviction fade of the channel top with a stop at 1.1265. AUD/USD and GBP/USD are dip-buys stopped under 0.6955 and 1.3300. Five of the six ideas are dollar-short, so they will move together if US data surprises, and the 12:30 GMT Employment Cost Index and Canada GDP, then the 13:00 GMT German CPI, are the main risks to these levels.
